Hello, and welcome to the Divide and Conquer Clutter website! My name is Andrea Sutter, and on July 1, 2019, I retired after 32 years of teaching high school math. Teaching has been the perfect occupation for me, and I am blessed to have exited my career still loving what I do. Although I will miss my students, my colleagues, and the daily challenges and laughs that arise from interacting with hundreds of people every day, I am excited about entering the next stage of my life.
In the spring of 2018, good friends of mine were frantically preparing to put their house on the market. I was helping them organize 30 years of “stuff.” What will they keep? Which items will their daughters want in the future? What should they put in storage? What should be donated, sold, or thrown in the dumpster? It was all very hectic and emotional, and I found that I loved every minute of it. I went to their home as often as I could. I packed boxes, rearranged storage spaces, loaded the pickup truck, planted flowers, labeled items, and gave my friends hugs when necessary. I was calm despite the chaos, I was positive and happy despite the stress, and I saw the potential of organized spaces when everyone else saw a mess. I loved the challenges, I loved working hard, and I loved helping.
For these reasons, I have decided to pursue helping others declutter and get organized, not as a career, but as a hobby. I look forward to using my patience, creativity, skills, and fun-loving personality to encourage you to Divide and Conquer Clutter.
